QR Ph is the Philippines' national QR code standard that enables secure and interoperable digital payments across participating banks and e-wallets, allowing users to send, receive, and pay funds seamlessly.
MY ROLE
As the Product Lead for the quick response "QR" technology, I led a cross-functional team from concept through to launch. I conducted user research, business and financial models, worked with regulators, managed end-to-end customer journey, and collaborated closely with designers, and engineers to deliver a seamless experience.

The QR technology is part of the overall customer journey of Bayad. A comprehensive digital platform designed to offer a wide range of financial services in the Philippines. Key features of the QR technology included both the generation of QRs and the reading of QRs.
EVOLUTION (ORIGIN STORY) - When Bayad set out to enhance its digital payment offerings, the goal was clear: to provide a seamless, secure, and interoperable QR-based payment solution that would empower Filipinos to send money, receive funds, and make payments effortlessly.As the Product Lead, I led a cross-functional team through the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and development to launch and adoption. Our mission was to integrate Bayad into the national QR Ph ecosystem, aligning with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)'s mandate.
Through extensive user research and collaboration with stakeholders, we identified key challenges in the existing payment landscape, including fragmented payment systems and limited interoperability. By leveraging the QR Ph standard, we aimed to address these issues and provide a unified solution that would benefit both consumers and merchants.
The development process involved close coordination with legal, compliance, and technical teams to ensure adherence to BSP Circulars and other regulatory requirements. We also engaged with various financial institutions and e-wallet providers to facilitate seamless integration and ensure broad acceptance of the QR Ph system.
The launch of Bayad's QR Ph-enabled platform marked a significant milestone in the digital payment landscape, enabling users to perform secure and efficient transactions across a wide network of participating banks and e-wallets. This initiative not only enhanced Bayad's service offerings but also contributed to the broader goal of financial inclusion and the promotion of cashless transactions in the Philippines.
