MY ROLE

As the Product Owner for our Digital Onboarding feature, I led a cross-functional team from concept with the client through to launch. I conducted user research and interviews to uncover pain points, managed end-to-end customer journey, and collaborated closely with clients, designers, and engineers to deliver a seamless experience.
PRODUCT FEATURE

The Digital Onboarding feature is part of the overall customer journey of the PERA HUB Mobile App. The App developed by PETNET Inc., is a comprehensive digital platform designed to offer a wide range of financial services in the Philippines. Key features of the app include:​Interbank Fund Transfers, Remittance Services among others.
EVOLUTION (ORIGIN STORY) - When the client first outlined their goals for the onboarding experience, the focus was clear: create a seamless entry point for users into the e-wallet platform. As a subsidiary of one of the top 10 banks in the Philippines, the product had to strike a careful balance between user-centric design and a highly regulated financial framework.From the outset, I led a cross-functional team as the Product Owner, working closely with the client from concept through to launch. Through user research and one-on-one interviews, we uncovered key friction points in the onboarding process—many of which stemmed from regulatory checks that, while essential, often disrupted the user flow.To map out and manage the full customer journey, we collaborated tightly with designers and engineers to ensure every interaction felt intentional. Each stage of the flow was broken down and optimized, while still meeting stringent KYC and compliance requirements. This collaborative approach enabled us to simplify complex backend processes into a front-end experience that felt smooth and intuitive.One of our biggest challenges was the volume of moving parts required in e-wallet onboarding—from identity verification to secure credential creation. By aligning early with legal and compliance teams, we were able to flag potential blockers before they became showstoppers.Ultimately, we delivered a product that met strict banking standards while offering a streamlined digital experience—laying the foundation for future features like in-app credit scoring and transaction insights.
